Fight Back with Joy Women's Book Study

IMG_0974.jpg

Date: Sunday, September 24 - October 29
Time: 8am-9:30am
Place: 6120 Day Long Lane, Clarksville, MD 21029 backyard
Cost: $17 for the workbook

Learn to practice joy, defiant joy. Sooner or later, we find ourselves on the battlefield of life and struggle to know how to respond. But God says, "Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's" (2 Chronicles 20:15). On that fateful day, King Jehoshaphat and his army marched forward rejoicing. Though we can choose from many weapons, God wants to empower us to fight back with joy. Join Margaret Feinberg for this 6-session Bible study that will help you embrace a life that's richer and fuller than you've ever known before—a life radiant with joy.

Watch a video about the book at http://bcove.me/9b237m3h.

Faithwalkers 2017

From http://www.faithwalkers-east.com/about/:

The Faithwalkers conference came from the desire to give young men and women the opportunity to hear pastors who have been devoted to Jesus Christ and the Great Commission. At Faithwalkers, people get to hear stories from these men of faith and to learn and benefit from their experiences.

The conference provides a way to continue to pass on the core beliefs of the Great Commission church movement. It is a rallying conference for everyone: young people, couples, parents, and families, to inspire them to be devoted to Jesus Christ and the Great Commission.

The name Faithwalkers was inspired by the Scripture: "We walk by faith and not by sight," (II Cor. 5:7). Also the name Faithwalkers makes a connection to the Native American culture where they would sit around the campfire with the "old ones" listening to them tell stories of the great hunt and deeds of the past. As Christians, older believers are to proclaim the deeds of God to younger believers, as is written in Psalm 78:4: "We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord."

Ben Brady coordinates housing, meals, and transportation for teens attending without parents (14+) and single young adults. Families and couples will need to coordinate housing, meals, and transportation on their own.

Martin from above close.jpg

When:
September 16, 7pm-8:30pm

Place:
6120 Day Long Lane
Clarksville, MD 21029

Join Tony Pierson to learn more about evangelism.

This workshop's title and focus has changed. Raising Godly Families workshops will now be led in life groups. Check out our life group information at http://www.oakridgecc.org/life-groups.

As our love for Christ grows and overflows, we desire to share that hope with others. However many of us feel unequipped or ill-prepared to do so. This will be a very practical workshop learning and practicing how to go through the four stages of a gospel conversation.

Please RSVP that you want to attend the Hands-on Evangelism Workshop by email to churchoffice@oakridgecc.org.

Childcare may be provided depending on interest and need. Let us know if you are interested and for how many children by email.
