Our Children’s Ministry is committed to presenting God’s word to children while being godly examples to those we teach. Our mission is to support parents as they train up their children in the knowledge and respect of God. We seek to provide a clean, safe environment for children. To help ensure the safety of the children, all of our adult staff undergo a professional background check.

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."
Matthew 19:14

Dates and Important Information from the Children's Ministry Team

Current Memory Verse

Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” *Children, memorize and say your verse to your teachers.  You’ll hide God’s truth in your heart and earn tickets for store and fair days.

Take Home Papers

Parents, each Sunday, your child receives papers to take home for your family to discuss and work with the principle we’re learning throughout the week.  Children should bring these papers back to show their teachers each week.

Check In

We continue to encourage children to check in between 9:45am and 10am.  Children who check in before 10am earn a sticker for their class.  The class with the most stickers at the end of the term earns a special reward.

November 12 - February 18 (excluding December 24 and 31)

Sunday School classes are offered for those in grades PreK through 5, starting at 9:45am, and for those in grades 6-8 starting upstairs after worship.  *For November 12-December 17, Sunday School classes will run until approximately 10:50am and for the remainder of the time, children will practice a song for the December 24 service.

December 14 at 6pm and December 31 at 10am

The upstairs nursery room will be open without volunteer support, and other nurseries will not be open.

December 24 at 6pm Christmas Eve Service

Includes a special song from the children

February 18

Store Day will be held in addition to Sunday School classes on this day.

Nursery Care

We provide responsible childcare so parents can worship in the main service free of distraction.

The upstairs nursery room is open for parents to use in caring for infants without Children’s Ministry volunteer support during the regular Sunday services.  Our Intermediate Nursery provides care for children who are nine months to two years old.  Our Advanced Nursery provides care for children who are two and three years old.

Each child in the Intermediate and Advanced Nurseries is checked in when brought to a nursery, and parents are given a numbered pager. The pager must be returned to pick up the child.

Sunday School

The Children’s Ministry team offers Sunday School classes for children Pre-K through 8th grade during the months of January through June and September through October. Each lesson offers a Biblical teaching and discussion. More information can be found at Answers in Gensis ABC websites. This Semester (Fall 2017), Middle Schoolers will cover GCC Core values. Our teachers have a passion to help their students to grow spiritually and to have a fulfilling life.

PreK through 5th grade Sunday School classes start with check-in at 9:45am each Sunday downstairs in the north wing classrooms. Students in 6th-8th grades meet for Sunday School in the 2nd floor library from 10:15-11:15am.
