Live 58:

Thanks to everyone who came out and viewed “58: The Film” on Friday 11/18. As a follow-up to the event, we have decided as a church to help fund the Helping Haiti Rebuild project, which is run by Living Water International. Find more details and ways to donate here.

If you are interested in Living the True Fast of Isaiah 58 and want to be a part of ending world-wide extreme poverty, follow these steps to create a profile on the Live58 website:

Steps to Start Living the True Fast of Isaiah 58

Step 1: Visit www.live58.org and click “Start” at the top of the page to begin browsing the website. You can also explore the links on the left side of the page.

Step 2: Create a profile by selecting “Sign-Up” at the top of the page.

Step 3: Take the Live58 Pledge.

Step 4: When you are ready to join the Oakridge Team, scroll over the “Unite” icon at the top, then select “Browse Teams.”

Step 5: Search for “Oakridge” then select it when results come up. Browse the page, review details of the project we will fund, then donate when you are ready.

Notes:
  • Explore, read and watch as many things as possible prior to donating so you get a real feel for the purpose of Live58.
  • How we donate will look different for everyone. Take some time to read and pray over Isaiah 58. Maybe us living out the True Fast of Isaiah 58 means we skip one meal a week and donate that money. Maybe we fast from going to the movies for a week. Be open to how God wants to work through you.
  • Your profile will be public and will show the amount you have donated and the points you have earned. If this is not something you feel comfortable sharing, then simply make your profile name something other than your real name.
  • There are currently 17 posted projects on the website. As projects are funded and completed they will be adding more. Once we reach our goal for this first project, we will add another.

WHAT IS 58:?

58: is a Christ-centered global initiative to end extreme poverty. The name comes from Isaiah 58 where God desires that his people carry out a True Fast, one that cares for the poor and oppressed. More info at www.live58.org.
